Hayward Aqua Logic and Aqua Plus board repair
Your Hayward Aqua Logic or Aqua Plus shows No Cell Power or Communication Error, the display is flashing or dead, or a pump or valve stopped responding? In most cases the problem is on the main board, and a repair costs much less than a new control center.
Problems we repair
- No Cell Power, No Cell Power 1 or No Cell Power 2 (check the fuse first, the guide shows you how)
- Communication Error
- The display is flashing, or nothing lights up (check the GFCI outlet next to the board first)
- Buttons that don’t respond. Try cleaning them with 99% isopropyl alcohol first (not 70%).
- High Salt/Amp and Check System
- Wrong salt reading (after checking the cell, see below)
- A pump that won’t start or never stops
- Valves, relays, heater, lights or aux outputs that don’t work
- A clock that doesn’t keep the right time
Is it the board or the salt cell?
Most low-salt messages come from a worn cell, not from the board. A Hayward cell is good for about 10,000 hours of operation. Before you send anything:
- Have the water tested at a pool store. A regular system needs 2,700 to 3,500 ppm.
- Check the cell type in the configuration menu: hold the left and right arrows together until it beeps and says unlocked. Aqua Logic boards with firmware 2.xx or 3.00 take a T-5 or T-15 cell only.
- If the cell type is right, photos of both sides of the main board tell us if the board or the cell is the problem. The guide tells you exactly what to send.

How to get your board repaired
- By mail (Canada, United States and other countries): your board is normally repaired within 1 to 2 business days after we receive it. Send a board
- Drop-off, no appointment: leave the board at any time at our drop-off location in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Quebec. It is normally ready the next day. To be sure, contact us before you come.
- By appointment (best if you come from far): a Hayward board repair normally takes 60 to 90 minutes and you can wait while we do it. Appointments are confirmed depending on the problem.
