Hayward GLX-PCB-RITE board repair (Aqua Rite, Aqua Trol)
The GLX-PCB-RITE is the main board of the Hayward Aqua Rite salt chlorinator (and the GLX-PCB-TROL of the Aqua Trol). When the Power light is off, the display shows PCB, nothing lights up, or the salt reading is wrong with a good cell, the board is the cause. We repair it, in 1 to 2 business days, from CA$120, for much less than a new board. Canada only.
Applies to: Hayward Aqua Rite (GLX-PCB-RITE, all firmware versions, regular and low salt), Aqua Trol (GLX-PCB-TROL), Swim Pure and Aqua Nature, and the Jacuzzi, Carvin and SaniClear boards built on the old Aqua Rite design. Original Hayward boards only.
Faults we repair on the GLX-PCB-RITE
- Power light off while the display still works, or the display on with no lights.
- Nothing lights up: after trying another outlet and checking the yellow 20 A fuse. If a new fuse blows too, the whole unit comes in.
- PCB shown on the display (often intermittent at first).
- Wrong salt reading when the store test, the cell type and the instant salt test say the cell is fine.
- Too much or not enough chlorine: the percentage read by the board (the value ending in P) doesn’t match the dial, or keeps changing.
- HOT or COLD with a wrong temperature reading even with the cell unplugged.
- No Flow light that stays on with a good flow sensor, or on an above-ground board (AL-7) that has no sensor.
- Diagnostic button that doesn’t respond after cleaning.

The exact price depends on the fault: we confirm it from your photos before you ship, and before any extra work. Canada only for this board: we don’t repair the Aqua Rite and Aqua Trol for customers outside Canada.
1-year warranty on our work and the parts we replace. If we can’t repair the board, you pay nothing for the repair.
Repair or replace the GLX-PCB-RITE?
A new GLX-PCB-RITE sells for several hundred dollars at Hayward dealers. A repair costs a fraction of that, keeps your original board with its configuration, and the repaired board lasts as long as a new one: every repair is tested on our own Aqua Rite test bench and covered by a 1-year warranty.
Exchange board: when we have a refurbished GLX-PCB-RITE in stock, we can also exchange your board for a repaired and tested one, for customers who need the system back the same day. Ask us.
How it works
- Send us photos of both sides of the board and tell us what the panel shows (repair quote, or text them to 438 448-0782). We confirm the price.
- Fill in the Send a board form to get the shipping address.
- Ship only the board, in a small flat box: remove the plastic stands, wrap it in bubble wrap, and write your name on the box.
- Repair in 1 to 2 business days after we receive it, fully tested on our test bench.
- Return by Canada Post, with the balance paid when the repair is ready.
Near Montréal? You can also drop the board off in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Quebec (ready the next day), or come by appointment and wait about 60 to 90 minutes.
Questions
Is my board a GLX-PCB-RITE?
It is the board with all the wires inside the Aqua Rite box, behind the display card. The part number is printed on the board: GLX-PCB-RITE for the Aqua Rite, GLX-PCB-TROL for the Aqua Trol. Send us a photo if you are not sure.
Do you repair the Aqua Rite for US customers?
No. The Aqua Rite and Aqua Trol boards are repaired for customers in Canada only. For the USA we repair the automation boards: Pro Logic, Aqua Logic, Aqua Rite PRO and OmniLogic.
How long will my pool be without the board?
Shipping both ways plus 1 to 2 business days for the repair: about a week in total from most of Canada.
Can you set the board for my cell (T-3, T-5, T-9, T-15)?
A repaired board keeps its firmware and the cells it supports. If your board doesn’t support the cell you bought, we can exchange it for a compatible version instead: ask us with your firmware version (the r value in the Diagnostic menu).
Do you repair clones or other brands?
We repair original Hayward boards, plus the Jacuzzi, Carvin and SaniClear boards built on the old Aqua Rite design (same rules as the Aqua Rite version 1.40). Other copies: no, their quality is too low to repair.
